Cynergy Enterprises Radial Edge Disc Filter (REDF) is an advanced fully automatic backwash filtration system designed for both cooling water treatment and process liquid filtration. It efficiently removes suspended solids, silt, rust, and impurities while operating continuously with minimal maintenance. The REDF is also an ideal modern replacement for traditional Sparkler Filters, offering cleaner filtration, automatic operation, reduced labor, faster cycles, and lower downtime. Built in high-grade stainless steel, it is suitable for cooling towers, chillers, HVAC systems, edible oil, chemicals, pharma, beverages, and industrial plants where reliable high-performance filtration is required.
The Auto Back Washable Filter (REDF) is designed for chemical reactions where salt precipitates, activated carbon powder, or catalyst is present in the process stream.
This system helps achieve efficient solid–liquid separation without frequent manual intervention.
The REDF system consists of:
Filter housing
Filter candles
Radial edge disc filtration elements
Instrumentation for operation and monitoring
These components work together to ensure continuous filtration with automatic cleaning.
Filter housings are available in the following materials to suit different chemical environments:
SS 304
SS 316
SS 316L
Duplex Stainless Steel
Hastelloy
PTFE Coating / Lining
These materials ensure resistance against corrosive chemicals and longer equipment life.
Unlike conventional filtration systems, REDF uses radial flow filter candles.
In this design:
Feed flows radially across the membrane surface
Solid particles are trapped on the filtration surface
Clean filtrate passes through the filter element
This radial flow design improves filtration efficiency and reduces clogging.
Zero manual labor – no need to open the filter housing
Hi-flow powder not required for filtration
Operational cost almost zero
Dry cake discharge possible
Long service life of filter candles
Fully automatic backwash cleaning
Customized designs available as per process requirement
The REDF system is suitable for:
API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients)
Activated Carbon Filtration
Catalyst Regeneration Processing
Chemical & Petrochemical Industries
Solvent Recovery
Beverage Purification
Filter Candle
Perforated Core
Radial Edge Disc (E.D)
Bottom Cap (Closed)
Brush for Scraping
Brush Mounting Plate
Inlet Nozzle – Raw feed entry
Outlet Nozzle – Filtrate discharge
Backwash Nozzle – Automatic cleaning
Drain Nozzle – Sludge / cake removal
Used for solid–liquid separation during chemical reactions where solids form during processing.
Typical cases:
Removal of salt precipitates
Filtration of reaction slurry
Catalyst removal
Activated carbon polishing
Benefits:
Closed filtration system (important for pharma)
No manual filter opening
Cleaner product recovery
Common in pharma, chemicals, food, and solvent purification.
Process:
Activated carbon powder is added for color removal or impurity adsorption.
REDF filters the carbon powder from the liquid.
Advantages:
No need for filter aid powder
Continuous operation
Dry carbon cake discharge possible
In many chemical reactions powder catalysts are used.
REDF helps:
Separate catalyst particles from liquid
Allow catalyst recovery and reuse
Reduce catalyst loss
Industries:
Fine chemicals
Petrochemicals
Specialty chemicals
Used for removing suspended solids from process streams.
Applications include:
Reaction mass filtration
Salt crystal removal
Polymer processing filtration
Slurry filtration
Advantages:
High pressure handling
Corrosion-resistant materials available
During solvent purification, solids such as:
Carbon powder
Reaction residues
Catalyst particles
need to be removed.
REDF provides:
Continuous filtration
Minimal solvent loss
Cleaner recovered solvent
Used in filtration of:
Sugar syrup
Alcohol processing
Fermentation liquids
Beverage clarification
Benefits:
Fine filtration
No contamination risk
Automatic cleaning
This filter is especially useful where:
✔ Powder filtration is required
✔ Activated carbon is used
✔ Catalyst recovery is needed
✔ Salt precipitates during reaction
✔ Continuous filtration is required
✔ Manual filter cleaning must be avoided
